Self-promotion often feels at odds at these moments in time, so we wanted to shift the spotlight to the collective instead.

This project centers on the idea that transformation can arise through the act of giving attention, intention, and creation to someone else as individual entities inside of a collective structure as a means of metamorphosis.

Metamorphosis grew from mutual care; from recognising that transformation is not a solitary act. Just as jewellery takes on meaning through its wearer, the collective gains depth through each individual.

We as The Pool are not a uniform brand, but facets 

of a shared stone; where in this case each piece reflects the others.

By making for one another or having the other in mind, we embrace the diversity within our group while exploring how identity, support, and metamorphosis can take tangible forms.

Jewellery in this exhibition is not adornment alone; 

it is care, recognition, and transformation.

This edition focuses on jewelry as an autonomous form of artistic expression, where the story behind each piece is as important as the object itself. Each artist displays their work as an installation, with their own approach to meaning, process, and form.

By bringing together different generations and practices (from emerging talent to established names, and from conceptual approaches to traditional craftsmanship), the exhibition paints a vibrant picture of Amsterdam's dynamic jewelry scene and explores what jewelry can be today.

After getting a new skin in October with an interior renovation, The Pool will open its doors for our Obsessed! exhibition “Synchronised Swimming” in November.
 

Synchronised Swimming is a team sport, we will host exclusive collaborations between the Pool’s members and their guests. Synchronicities will create a spectacle of fantasy, community & underwater creativity.

As part of Obsessed! Jewellery festival, organised by Current Obsession. The opening of our Pool Party is on Wednesday, November 10, from 16:00-19:00. The exhibition runs until the 28th of November.

14 Amsterdam goldsmiths have taken up the challenge: They each made a male piece of jewelry or utensil and incorporated various natural diamonds into it. Each piece of jewelry is explained in pictures by the participants as part of the exhibition. The collection can be admired from December 14 to mid-March 2020 and is for sale in BLOU.
